London City adds DriveNow

DriveNow has announced a partnership with London City Airport, making it the first UK airport to offer car sharing.  The concept is already popular in airports across Europe, with many major capital cities offering services giving travellers increased flexibility when it comes to getting to and from the airport.

DriveNow is an on-demand ‘free-floating’ car sharing service, with a fleet of BMW 1 series, MINI Countryman and 50 BMW i3s – making it the largest electric car fleet in London.  The innovative partnership opens the possibility of driving to airports on one-way journeys, and also introduces the concept of fully integrated travel.

Travellers can drive to London City Airport, catch their flight, and jump in another DriveNow car upon landing in one of nine other airports across Europe: Stockholm, Copenhagen, Vienna, Dusseldorf, Cologne, Hamburg, Munich and Berlin.

Driving costs 39p per mile and fuel costs, parking, insurance and car tax are all included. DriveNow customers can either pick up or drop off a car anywhere within the catchment area of North and East London.

New users simply download the app, register their details and find the nearest DriveNow car. More information is available at: www.drive-now.com
