Airlines, hotels and business-travel specialists of all sorts from around the globe gather at the ExCeL complex in London’s Docklands this week for the 2015 World Travel Market London (WTM).
The show opens today (Monday) and runs until Thursday.
Almost 250 newcomers are among the 9,000-plus exhibitors signed-up for this year’s event. Together they will contribute to some of the 1.1m on-stand meetings that are expected to lead to more than £2.5bn worth of deals being agreed during the four days.
Flag-carriers such as Avianca and Kuwait Airways are among the newcomers. United Airlines will be in the North America section, whileTrans Caribbean Air and Colombia’s flag-carrier Avianca will also exhibit.
Portuguese airline TAP will be in a celebratory mood during WTM as this year marks its 70th anniversary and strong year-on-year growth on its two main routes from the UK to Lisbon and Porto.
Elsewhere, the Monarch group is reinforcing the launch of its new company-wide identity with a presence at the show, and business-accommodation specialist NH Hotel Group will have news of expansion in Latin America following the recent acquisition of the 20-chain Hoteles Royal. www.wtmlondon.com
