As Flybe celebrated its first year at London City Airport (LCY) last week, the airline also announced two new year-round services to Rotterdam The Hague from Birmingham and Manchester airports.
Flights will operate twice daily during the week, and once a day at weekends with the service from Manchester effective for travel from Monday 8 February.
Details of the new Birmingham schedule, with seats available for booking for travel from 5 September next year will be available in Flybe’s 2016 summer schedule, released on 10 November.
Flybe says flights have been timed particularly to accommodate business travel by offering the opportunity for convenient day returns, as well as allowing for longer stays to sample the cities’ lively cultural events, museums and nightlife.
Paul Simmons, Chief Commercial Officer, Flybe, said: “Our new routes to Rotterdam the Hague open up another new destination for us in keeping with our commitment to offering the widest possible range of flights from local airports particularly via our main hubs at Birmingham and Manchester.”
For the anniversary celebration at LCY, Flybe installed a decorative 'Tree of Flight' adorned with 365 hand-crafted purple origami aeroplanes, in keeping with the tradition of marking a first anniversary with paper.
Travellers were encouraged to visit the installation and pick one of the paper planes in a bid to win prizes which included free flights, Flybe teddy bears and model aircraft. www.flybe.com www.londoncityairport.com www.rotterdamthehagueairport.nl/en
