A high-specification 4,500sq m dedicated conference centre and 400sq m of outdoor riverside space will be features of London’s largest new events space, the InterContinental London-The O2, when it opens this winter.

The conference centre will have a separate entrance from the hotel leading straight to the Arora Ballroom, a 7.6m double-height 3,100sq m pillar-free space. High-tech touches will be 88 two-tonne rigging points allowing for 50 cars to be hung from the ceiling at any one time.

The 80m x 40m ballroom can be divided by sound-proofed separation walls and offers dedicated guest lifts, stairs and escalator access to each half.

The 18-storey hotel complex is on the Greenwich Peninsula, 400m from North Greenwich tube and Greenwich Pier for fast access into Central London, Canary Wharf, and London City Airport.

The hotel features 453 guest rooms and suites, a luxury spa with 17m indoor swimming pool and eight treatment rooms, and a selection of destination restaurants and bars.    www.iclondon-theo2.com
