Turkish adds fifth Istanbul daily

A new daily flight between Heathrow and Istanbul was launched yesterday (Sunday 25 October) by Turkish Airlines, the carrier’s fifth daily service between the two capitals.

The new timings see departure from Heathrow at 18:00 with arrival in Istanbul at 23:50. The return leg leaves Istanbul at 14:50, arriving at Heathrow at 17:00.

A spokesman described the move as signifying the popularity of the destination for business travellers, with onward journeys available to more countries than any other airline.

Osman Battal, London General Manager for Turkish Airlines, said: “We are delighted to announce our fifth flight from London Heathrow to Istanbul and happy that more and more passengers are using our airline to visit Turkey; not only as a final stop but also as a hub to their onward destinations.”

The new service marks the continuing rapid expansion of the airline, which earlier this year added its second destination in Canada after Toronto by inaugurating flights between Istanbul and Montreal.

It is also the carrier’s 10th destination in the Americas after Buenos Aires, Sao Paulo, Toronto, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, Washington and Boston.

The Montreal flights operate three times a week on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays in both directions.  www.turkishairlines.com
