New Corfu base for Ryanair

Ryanair is to open a new base, its 75th, and place an aircraft at Corfu next April , with 11 new routes to Birmingham, Bratislava, Budapest, Cologne, Rome, Katowice, Poznan, Pisa, Rzeszow, Venice and Warsaw.

There will also be more flights to Brussels Charleroi, East Midlands, Stansted and Milan Bergamo, which the airline says will deliver 300,000 customers a year as it doubles its Corfu traffic.

Meanwhile, more than 90% of Ryanair’s 54,000-plus flights in September arrived on time, according to statistics from the airline last week.

The carrier also said the month saw less than one complaint per 1,000 customers; less than one bag complaint per 1,000 customers, and more than 99% of all complaints answered within seven days.

Robin Kiely, Head of Communications, said: “Ryanair carried more than 9.5m customers in September with 92% of our 54,000 flights arriving on-time as we continued to improve our customer experience.”

He said the improvements included the fact that all Ryanair customers could now also book flights earlier online, have allocated seats, take advantage of Ryanair’s  Family Extra and Business Plus services, and use personal electronic devices inflight.

“Ryanair continues to deliver more than just the lowest fares – with more to come,” he added.  www.ryanair.com
