Flybe has introduced an ATR 72-600 into its fleet for the first time. The leased aircraft will operate in the livery of the carrier’s new partner, Scandinavian Airlines, in Sweden following the recently-announced six-year white label partnership between the two which starts next month.
During this year and next, Flybe will incorporate five new 70-seat ATR 72-600s leased from Avation into the SAS network. The aircraft will be based at Arlanda airport, Stockholm, and will serve SAS domestic and regional destinations. Avation Plc has more than 20 ATRs flying in the liveries of various airlines and says it plans to introduce more Dash-600s, noted for operational flexibility and low environmental impact, in Europe as carriers start replacing their earlier-generation aircraft. In total, there are currently more than 250 ATRs of different types operating in Europe in the liveries of around two dozen operators. www.flybe.com www.avation.net
