InterContinental Hotels Group has signed an agreement to manage its third Hotel Indigo in Berlin. The new-build property in the city’s East Side district will be owned by Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG) and operate under a franchise agreement with development partner Tristar Hotel Group.
Scheduled to open in autumn 2017, Hotel Indigo Berlin City-East Side joins other Indigo properties at Alexanderplatz and Ku’damm and will feature 119 rooms, a gym, restaurant and rooftop bar with outdoor terrace, and is within walking distance of the Warschauer Strasse and Ostbahnhof train stations.
The property is being built in Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg, one of the trendiest districts in Berlin, and will be part of Mercedes Platz, an eating, entertainment and evenings complex opposite the Mercedes-Benz Arena. Visitor numbers are projected to reach 20m a year after the complex opens in 2018. www.ihg.com
