Air Canada has launched a far-reaching summer schedule expansion for next year with its first route to Africa and the addition of four major European cities to its network. The Air Canada rouge service to Casablanca means the carrier will be one of only a dozen in the world serving six continents.
The four-times-weekly Montreal – Casablanca flight will also be the only service to North Africa by a North American carrier. It will operate between 3 June – 17 October with the ultimate aim of becoming a year-round route.
Air Canada is also launching non-stop services from Toronto to four new European destinations next summer, including Glasgow as well as Budapest, Prague and Warsaw. All the new services will be operated by Air Canada rouge, using a 280-seat Boeing 767-300ER.
The Toronto – Glasgow service will fly three times weekly from 13 June – 25 September, departing Toronto on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays at 18:55 and landing in Glasgow at 06:40 the next day. The return leg will leave Glasgow at 08:25 and arrive in Toronto at 10:50. An Air Canada rouge summer seasonal service between Toronto and Gatwick next year has already been announced. www.aircanada.com
