Passengers heading to Heathrow from the Slough, Windsor and Maidenhead areas now have an extended 24hr bus service on routes 75 and 78 into the Central Terminal zone to make their journeys easier.
The new service has been launched as part of the airport’s £1m Local Transport Development Fund, which is operated in partnership with the Slough and Windsor and Maidenhead councils and First Group.
While stressing the usefulness of a 24hr service to passengers with early-morning or late-night flights, as well as staff on shift, Heathrow is also promoting the eco-friendly aspects, pointing to bus travel as sustainable. The airport says over the past decade it has spent more than £25m on public transport projects, with passenger use increasing to more than 40%. www.heathrow.com
