If you are flying with Norwegian Air this summer and want to make the most of the free wi-fi service on board do remember to take an ear piece. While the airline does have a comprehensive duty-free service, headphones and the like are not included.
On short inter Europe sectors sound is probably not essential but with flights to such places as Tenerife, four hours plus, it is shame not to use a service which includes a selection of films (gratis), television, plus the latest releases priced at £5 for the session.
With 90% of the airline's 87-strong Boeing 737-800 fleet equipped with wi-f, more than 650,000 passengers used the service in July alone, the cabin staff noticing how quickly people were getting their iPhones out once airborne. Login is very easy with no need to complete a messy form.
For messaging or even research the wi-fi is adequate in terms of speed, but not as quick as the Etihad system. But we must emphasise it is free and fits in nicely with the airline’s friendly in-flight service. It is great for business travellers and puts Norwegian in front of all European competition.
