Sofia – popular destination

Gaining popularity is Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria.  Presently linked to the UK by British Airways from Heathrow (T5), easyJet from Gatwick (N) and Wizz out of Luton, two new airports are about to be added to the list.

Beginning in May 2016, Ryanair will launch a daily service from Stansted, following Plovdiv, which is four weekly, and from the same airport.

Wizz Air has also announced that it will further expand its Bristol Airport operations, where it already serves 17 capital cities, with a twice weekly flight starting 28 March.

Bulgaria lies to the north of Turkey and borders the Black Sea.  After the abolition of Communism in 1989, Sofia has witnessed the construction of whole business districts and neighbourhoods, as well as modern skyscraper-like glass-fronted office buildings, but also top-class residential neighbourhoods.  Bulgaria is a member of the EU.  www.ryanair.com    www.wizzair.com
