London Stock Market listed Wizz Air is to introduce Birmingham as its latest UK operation. Starting 14 September the airlines will operate twice weekly from both Budapest and Warsaw to the capital of the Midlands.
"We are thrilled today to be adding another airport to Wizz Air’s diverse UK network. This will give consumers in the West Midlands the opportunity to explore two of the largest capital cities in CEE, both renowned to offer excellent value to travellers,” said Daniel de Carvalho, spokesman for Wizz Air. “Birmingham will be Wizz Air’s 8th airport in the UK and we hope our first two services to Hungary and Poland will stimulate tourism and hospitality sectors as well as strengthen business relations between the three countries.”
Wizz Air is the largest low-cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe, operating a fleet of 61 Airbus A320 aircraft and offers more than 380 routes from 22 bases, connecting 112 destinations across 38 countries.
