SAS at Stansted

Stansted has received an important boost with the announcement that Scandinavian flag carrier, SAS, will begin reintroduce flights to Gothenburg later this year.  Scheduled to commence on 26 October, Scandinavia’s largest airline is returning to London’s third busiest airport after a 14-year absence.  It will also free up valuable slots at Heathrow.  Twelve flights a week are planned, a double weekdaily service.

Andrew Harrison, Managing Director, Stansted Airport, said: “I’m delighted to welcome SAS back to Stansted with what will no doubt be a very popular service to and from Gothenburg.  I’m sure the new service will be very well received within our catchment area, especially by business passengers along the London-Stansted – Cambridge economic corridor as well as those travelling from Sweden wanting quick and easy access to London and the East of England.  We look forward to working with SAS to develop a long and successful relationship here at Stansted."   www.flysas.co.uk
