Star Alliance member Turkish Airlines has added a second destination in California and the 11th in America by inaugurating non-stop flights to San Francisco from Istanbul. The airline says this demonstrates its commitment to link Turkey’s largest city to all of the world's major tourist and business centres, also challenging the major airlines in the Gulf region, Istanbul a key connecting point, particularly for destinations in the Caucasus and Western Asia.
With existing flights to Boston, Buenos Aires, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, Montreal, New York, Sao Paulo, Toronto and Washington, Turkish Airlines will operate five times per week on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays in both directions.
The 13-hour plus flight is operated by a Boeing 777-300LR in a two-class mode with 49 flat-bed seats in Business Class and 300 Economy, 2+3+2 and 3+3+3. www.turkishairlines.com
