AND FINALLY: Virgin’s bad news followed by the good news

There are always two sides to every story.

Last week Virgin Atlantic’s inaugural flight to Atlanta Georgia was cancelled due to over enthusiastic fire staff at Manchester Airport spraying the A330 with foam instead of water, resulting in a UK night-stop for passengers.

That was the bad news.

The good news is that headline newspaper exposure and maximum TV coverage means that the whole of the north west knows that Virgin now flies daily to the world’s busiest airport (and the home of Gone with the Wind).  Partner airline Delta should gain some business too without its name even being mentioned.
