The Mövenpick hotel group is opening the doors of its second Istanbul hotel, and fourth in Turkey 31 March. The Hotel Istanbul Golden Horn features 136 rooms and is situated on Istanbul’s historic peninsula, just 10 minutes from the Haliç Congress Centre. Rooms feature 40-inch flat-screen televisions with satellite, free wi-fi, workstations, laptop-friendly safes and of course tea and coffee making facilities in addition to more traditional amenities.
Along with many of the 82 Mövenpick hotels that specialize in business and conference travel The Golden Horn is clearly targeting the corporate events sector. A divisible 380sqm ballroom that can accommodate up to 440 guests compliments six meeting rooms, which vary in size from 23 to 120 sqm. Lighting, sound and video is controlled by a sophisticated technology system that can all be managed through an iPad. In a nod to the specific requirements of the automotive sector, the structure incorporates specifically designed entrance points with a unique elevator system to service the industry’s exact needs.
Mövenpick currently has 30 properties planned or under construction including hotels in Chiang Mai (Thailand) and Kochi (India). www.moevenpick-hotels.com
