Finnair continues to upgrade its cabin services with the latest addition being Marimekko designed amenity kits featuring on long haul flights in Business and Economy Comfort classes.
The fashion house Marimekko, which teamed up with Finnair in Spring 2013, has incorporated three designs featuring classic patterns on the amenity bags. The Business Class kit includes traditional eye-mask, ear-plugs, toothbrush and paste, in addition to Clarins beauty products and Marimekko slippers.
The amenity kit changes follow hard on the heels of the introduction of a new “Signature Menu” range launched in cooperation with leading chefs from the Royal Restaurants brand. The specially created menus are available in Business Class on long haul flights from Helsinki. Blending the best seasonal ingredients, the chefs’ inspiration, and flavour experimentation, the rotating menus will be available until the end of spring 2016. The first menu is designed by Matti Jämsén of G.W. Sundmans, and consists of delicacies such as whitefish, glazed pork cheek and cod accompanied by specifically paired wines.
As Helsinki becomes a major hub for Europeans heading to Asia, Finnair has also retrofitted lie-flat beds on most of its long haul fleet making the overnight schedules even more appealing. www.finnair.com
