Celebrating its 30th year Ryanair is to introduce a five times per week flight from Glasgow International (GLA) to Berlin Schönefeld, as part of its expanded winter 2015 schedule. The airline already operates to the airport, part of the Berlin Brandenburg site, from Stansted, Birmingham, Dublin, Shannon, Milan (Bergamo), Olso (Torp) and Porto.
In what was a devastating blow for Scottish government-owned Prestwick Airport (PIK), Ryanair switched its Stansted and Dublin services to Glasgow International from the start of the current winter season. From next winter it will increase its GLA – Stansted schedule to five rotations daily.
Scottish customers can now choose from 25 routes from Glasgow this summer (nine from Glasgow International and 16 from Glasgow Prestwick). The airline now offers allocated seating, a free second carry-on bag, Family Extra and Business Plus. Certain fees have been reduced. www.ryanir.com
