The airline says it will provide a full refund on tickets purchased for future flights. Gambia itself is not affected by the disease outbreak.
Gambia Bird is an investment by the privately owned European airline Germania. The carrier started operations on 22 October 2012 with an Airbus A319. A second A319 joined the fleet later in the year. It planned to wet lease a Boeing 757 from UK charter operator Titan Airways in 2015. www.gambiabird.com
