Airports Commission goes public

All and sundry are invited to register to attend in the public gallery the Airports Commission community discussion on 3 and 16 December 2014.

The events will be chaired by Sir Howard Davies, Chair of the Airports Commission, and he will be accompanied by the other Commissioners – Sir John Armitt, Dame Julia King, Professor Ricky Burdett and Vivienne Cox. #####

The objective of this session is to provide a public platform for local stakeholders to express their opinions of the proposals to provide additional capacity at Heathrow Airport and the Airport Commission's appraisal of those options. 

Also invited are local Members of Parliament and Local Authority Leaders as well as local community and business representatives to give evidence to the Commission.  All three promoters of schemes for additional capacity in the South East have been invited.  Gatwick Airport Ltd, Heathrow Airport Ltd. and Heathrow Hub Ltd are expected to attend and set out their proposals and to respond to statements from witnesses.

Attendees in the public gallery will have the opportunity to make short statements on the proposals.
