Children and parents arriving at KidZania London at Westfield (Shepherd’s Bush) could be forgiven for thinking they have taken a wrong turn on the way and ended up at Heathrow, as British Airways is confirmed as the airline Industry Partner for KidZania London, the UK’s first educational entertainment experience – due to open in early 2015.
KidZania London is a 75,000sq ft child-sized city featuring 65 unique activities developed to introduce kids, aged four to 14, to different professions through real-life role-play adventures in a fun and safe environment.
Visitors will be welcomed at a British Airways branded airport terminal, complete with check-in desks and hosts wearing uniforms inspired by the airline.
On passing through check-in, guests will be greeted with the sight of full scale BA Airbus A319, over 18m metres long. It is also home to the Aviation Academy – where ‘mini flyers’ are immersed in the world of travel, learn how to be a pilot with flying lessons and can even wear miniature uniforms.
Abigail Comber, BA Head of Marketing, said: “ Kidzania brings children’s imagination and dreams to life in an entertaining and educational way. So many of our crew and pilots were inspired by flying from a young age – we hope to give that experience to the next generation, and what better way to do it!” www.kidzania.com
