Stansted expands

As the clocks went back the winter timetables took off at Stansted with Ryanair leading the way with its first ever links to Glasgow International, Edinburgh and Cologne.  Further scheduled destinations joining the airport’s network for this winter include Dundee plus Athens, Larnaca and Prague.

Passengers have the choice of eight departures a day to Dublin, five to Glasgow, six to Edinburgh, five to Cologne and four to Barcelona which is particularly great news for business passengers.

Another take-off is the opening of Next’s largest tax-free store in the UK, the latest milestone in the £8m terminal investment taking place to transform services and facilities for passengers.  With M&S Simply Food due to open next month, new cafes trading before Christmas and work under way to build the new Escape Lounge, there is much more to come.

Speaking about developments at Stansted, the Airport’s Managing Director Andrew Harrison said: “We’re now the fastest growing airport in London – annual passenger numbers increased by over 8% last month and monthly passenger numbers by a record 14% – and we’re not just maintaining our number one position as the leading UK airport for scheduled connections across Europe but expanding that network even wider.” www.stanstedairport.com
