Frankfurt first for A350

Qatar Airways, the Airbus A350 XWB launch customer, has announced Frankfurt as the first route.  Still undergoing final pre-delivery preparations at Toulouse the lead aircraft will operate a daily Doha – Frankfurt service starting January.  Qatar Airways currently flies twice-daily on the route with the plan to operate both services with the A350.

All the airline's A350s will feature 36 seats in Business Class and 246 in Economy.  Qatar Airways has 80 Airbus A350s on order, and expects to induct the first eight production aircraft into its fleet before 2015. 

Before the end of this year the airline will reach 146 destinations, launching new services to Djibouti (Republic of Djibouti), yesterday 26 October and Asmara (Eritrea) on 4 December.

Qatar Airways took delivery of its first double-decker A380 aircraft in September this year and it is currently operated daily on the Doha – Heathrow route.  www.qatarairways.com
