World Travel Market

Make sure the dates are in your diary.  World Travel Market (WTM) is nearly upon us with the Excel, London Docklands, the event opening 10:00 Monday 3 November and running until 16:00 Thursday 6 November.

This is the 35th WTM.   It is essentially a leisure industry gathering but there is plenty of interest for those engaged in business travel with many of the big hotel groups exhibiting plus car rental and train companies.  The catalogue says 1,642 business travel product suppliers are exhibiting. BA has not participated in recent times but for 2014 Craig Keeper, CEO of Virgin Atlantic, is a highlighted symposium seeker.  The show directory lists 126 airlines and associated operators.

Some 50,000 of the global travel and tourism industry most senior executives from 178 countries will be in attendance.  5,000 exhibitors.  A poll of 1,229 exhibitors and buyers reveals one in two expect to conduct more business at WTM 2014 than they did last year. WTM 2013 facilitated £2.2bn in industry deals.

On the Wednesday the show will stay open for an extra two hours until 20:00 to host the WTM Festivals, a lively networking event.

The Travel Technology Show at WTM – is in its second year and is poised to grow a further 20% on the first edition.  www.wtmlondon.com
