London to Santiago (Chile)

Iberia is making a great effort to attract customers on its Heathrow – Madrid – Santiago services, a route British Airways dropped many years ago.  It faces competition from TAM via São Paulo and the US airlines via gateways such as Houston.  The Spanish airline has upped the service from seven to 10 flights per week and on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays there is a morning service out of Heathrow, which gives a full daytime flight.

Iberia is introducing its new long haul cabins on its flights to/from Chile gradually.

In the Business Plus section the upgrade includes new seats that unfold into two-metre-long flat beds, all with direct access to the aisle, a new entertainment system via individual 15.4” touch screens with a choice of 50 feature films in several languages, 80 television series and documentaries, 400 musical selections, and video games.

Iberia’s Business Plus passengers can also enjoy a free limousine service from Santiago’s airport to their hotel and vice versa. The new Economy Class features larger and more comfortable seats and an individual entertainment system with the same offering as that enjoyed by Business Plus passengers, on 9” seatback touch screens.  www.iberia.com
