Portland Oregon to Europe

Icelandair will begin a seasonal non-stop service from Portland, Oregon to Reykjavik (Iceland) beginning 20 May 2015 and continuing through to 21 October 2015.

With this new route, Icelandair now provides flights to its third gateway in the Pacific Northwest region of North America, and 14th overall in the United States and Canada.

Connections through Icelandair’s hub at Keflavik International Airport are available from more than 20 points in Scandinavia, the UK and Continental Europe.  The airline allows passengers to stopover in Iceland for up to seven nights at no additional airfare.

Icelandair is an all Boeing 757 operator (24 currently with plans to change to Boeing MAX from 2018) and offers three booking classes: Economy, Economy Comfort and Saga Class (the latter being equivalent to Business Class).  Free meals are only available in Economy Comfort and Saga Class, and a buy-on-board service is provided for Economy Class passengers.

Portland is the largest city in Oregon with a population of 600,000 and 2.3m for the Metropolitan area.  The capital is Salem.  The State is bordered on its west by the Pacific Ocean, north by Washington, south by California, east by Idaho, and southeast by Nevada. www.icelandair.com
