Zanzibar Hilton

Hilton Worldwide and DoubleTree by Hilton have announced the opening of DoubleTree by Hilton Zanzibar – Stone Town, which is located in the heart of the Stone Town UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The property is a 20 minutes’ drive from Abeid Amani Karume International Airport and offers a Conference Centre with eight flexible meeting rooms and breakout areas, plus a 24-hour business centre.  Whilst all guest rooms and suites are traditional with hand-carved furniture they also come with complimentary wi-fi and 40-inch TVs.  The Taarab rooftop restaurant offers delicious breakfasts by day and transforms into a romantic and atmospheric à la carte restaurant in the evening.

Zanzibar, once a domain of Oman, is a semi-autonomous part of Tanzania.  It is tourist dependent for its economy and consists of numerous small islands and two large ones none more than 25 miles off the African coast.  The 58-room new opening marks the brand’s third hotel in the country. http://doubletree3.hilton.com
