Zagrosjet to Europe

Zagrosjet, the new flag carrier of the autonomous Kurdish region of northern Iraq, has announced it will begin operations to Amsterdam, Netherlands on June 26 and Munich, Germany two days later on June 28. Both services will be flown weekly by the rapidly growing Iraqi airline.

Zagrosjet was established in October 2005 by the Zagros Group and was originally named Zagros Air. It was approved as an Air Carrier by the Iraqi Ministry of Transportation in June 2013 and certified to perform scheduled and unscheduled flights for passenger and cargo.

In August 2013 the airline changed its name to Zagrosjet to avoid confusion with Zagros Airlines of Iran. Today it operates a fleet comprising two Airbus A320s and a single A321 with a network covering a number of Middle East destinations, including Turkey. The airline is partly owned by Turkish carrier Atlasjet, and has similar branding.

Zagrosjet has employed the motto “Not only for you! From you and for you!” and states its corporate aims to “improve flight and ground safety to the highest level, achieve customer satisfaction and sustainability, increase efficiency, take into account human factors, job security and environmental values, establish superiority of timing with our operations and achieve continuous development in all processes.”
