London City Airport has been literally “Bloomberged”. The financial information giant chose the world’s only specialised business airport to launch what it calls “The Bloomberg Hub”. Such is the importance that the New York-based operation attaches to this new concept Dan Doctoroff, President & CEO of Bloomberg, was on hand for the launch.
The Bloomberg Hub is very visible at the airport and delivers a unique business travel experience, providing timely and relevant news, data and information within a technology-driven environment. The whole thing is interactive and devised to make the business traveller’s journey more productive, more efficient and more enjoyable.
London City’s departure lounge, which can seat 180 people, is divided into distinct zones designed to allow travellers to work, relax or network. It includes the Apps Bar, which features six tablets pre-loaded with the Bloomberg portfolio of apps; charging stations for electronic devices; free wi-fi; 24/7 Bloomberg television; the Media Wall and four Bloomberg terminals for use by subscribers to the Bloomberg Professional service.
The Bloomberg Analytics help desk (ADSK) will be staffed during peak hours to answer client questions and demonstrate functionality. Bloomberg say that, assuming it is a success, it plans to replicate the hub at airports around the world. www.londoncityairport.com www.bloomberg.com
