Garuda promotes Skyteam

With the introduction of non-stop services from Amsterdam to Jakarta due 30 May, Garuda Indonesia held a reception last week at The White House, London, in conjunction with Skyteam.  On 8 September the route is extended to Gatwick.  A non-stop operation from the UK is on hold at the present.

Operating the route will be brand new Boeing 777-300ER aircraft with what looks like being one of the most comfortable layouts available, eight in First Class suites, 38 Executive Class and 268 Economy.  In First 22” wide seats are provided, 6ft 10” long, and with a 23.5” TV screen.  There is also a chef-on-board.  With Executive Class it is four abreast, with the window seats alternating to give plenty of storage space.

The 15hrs direct flight from Amsterdam is one of the world’s longest non-stop routes eliminating the previous Abu Dhabi stopover.  Garuda will compete with KLM, who go via Singapore.  www.garudaindonesia.co.uk
