Stavanger to Houston – Business Class only

The strength of the oil market will be clearly demonstrated by the launch of a six days per week service by SAS on 20 August between Stavanger and Houston.  The airline has entered into a “wet lease” agreement with PrivatAir to operate a Boeing 737-700, with a flight time of around 10 hours.

On the ground, there will be VIP services for the passengers, including Business check- in, Fast Track security, priority baggage and access to the business lounge in Houston.

“The route we have established is a tailored product for a defined market with particular travel needs,” says Rickard Gustafson, President and CEO of SAS.

Hans Dyhrfort, General Manager Western Europe, SAS Regional, commented: “With a private jet feel, the 44-seater service will offer passengers a unique product offering between Europe and Houston.  Easy transfers for UK passengers from Aberdeen or London via the small and modern Stavanger airport; will deliver a stress free and time efficient journey to Houston.  Additionally, passengers wishing to travel onwards can find many connecting flights to the south and west of Houston with Star Alliance member, United Airlines”.

The new route commences just ahead of the major oil exhibition in Stavanger, Offshore Northern Seas (ONS).
