Delta goes Porsche

First trailed at Atlanta, Delta Air Lines has expanded its successful customer Porsche vehicle pick-up service to Los Angeles International Airport, New York John F. Kennedy and Minneapolis/St Paul International Airport.

The programme, which transports select high-value customers from gate-to-gate, has developed to the extent that it now supports an average of more than 75 customer transfers per day at Delta’s largest hub.

In Los Angeles, New York-JFK and Minneapolis/St Paul, select SkyMiles Diamond Medallion customers connecting on flights will transfer between gates in the Porsche Cayenne S Hybrid vehicles.

“Delta is continuing to create new ways to recognize and enhance the travel experience for our most valuable customers”, said Mike Henny, Director – Customer Experience.  “By partnering with Porsche to offer unsuspecting pick-ups in an even more unexpected vehicle, we’ve found a unique opportunity to surprise and delight customers while assisting customers between connecting flights”.

Diamond Medallion customers selected for the service are greeted at the aircraft boarding door by a Delta Elite Services representative who escorts them with their baggage to an awaiting vehicle and on to their connecting gate.  Each customer is selected for transfer based on a number of factors including flight operation, connection timing and member status. www.delta.com
