Humberside Airport boost

Probably Britain’s smallest truly international airport (234,000 passengers in 2012), Humberside, sited south of the Humber Bridge, is to gain a week-daily SAS flight to Copenhagen from the start of the winter season (28 October).

Paul Litten, Humberside International Airport’s Commercial Director says: “The announcement of a new high profile route to Copenhagen is great news for Humberside International Airport as we will be providing the only non-stop, direct service to Scandinavia from the Humber, Lincolnshire and Yorkshire region”.

“SAS’s commitment underlines their view that the Humber, Lincolnshire and Yorkshire region is a place to do business and this service will provide superb connectivity to Scandinavia and beyond”.

Operating the flights will be one class 88-seat Bombardier CRJ 900 aircraft with a flight time of 90 minutes.

Humberside Airport is owned by Eastern Airways and was previously part of the Manchester Airports Group.  There are flights to both Aberdeen and Amsterdam by Eastern and KLM respectively three times a day Monday to Friday, with limited services at the weekends. www.humbersideairport.com
