Airbus A380 at Dubai

Emirates has become the first airline in the world to dedicate a complete terminal to the Airbus A380.  After a ‘soft’ opening, Concourse A at Dubai’s Terminal 3, with 20 gates, is now fully operational.  During its first month it handled 589,234 passengers on 2,450 flights with 461,972 pieces of luggage.

“The full opening of Concourse A is a significant milestone and achievement in supporting and enabling the continued growth of Emirates, and our focus and commitment to being a leader in offering our customers innovative products and services that provides them with an unsurpassed travel experience.  With a current fleet of 31 A380s and a further 59 on order, Emirates is the largest operator of this aircraft in the world, and it is only fitting that we have a world class facility that meets this need and represents our leadership in this regard”, said Tim Clark, President, Emirates Airline.

Part of Terminal 3 Concourse A is connected to Concourse B (other international airlines) via an underground train. The First Class and Business Class lounges have dedicated floors with direct access to aircraft boarding gates.  They offer fine dining, conference rooms, business centres, a Timeless Spa, entertainment zones and children’s play area.  The First Class lounge passengers have a private duty free and a Le Clos wine cellar. Smokers are provided for. www.emirates.com www.dubaiairports.ae
