Skyteam promotes show

The Business Travel Show (BTS) pre-show party was sponsored by Skyteam and held at the Olympia Hilton, a fine venue and next door to the exhibition centre of the same name.  Olympia will be home of BTS after Earls Court closes next year.

Host for the evening was Henri Hourcade. Air France/KLM General Manager, UK and Ireland.  He was in a buoyant mood noting that 15 of Skyteam’s 19 members operated out of London, and all except CityJet (London City) and Vietnam Airlines (Gatwick) from Heathrow T4, arguably the best terminal at the airport.

Henri Hourcade spoke of three initiatives by the alliance.

SkyPriority, which aims to help top customers travel faster through the airport – from checking in, to security, boarding and picking up their bags. “We like to call it the red carpet treatment for our top customers”.

SkyTransfer, improving further on seamless, straightforward transfers of passengers and their baggage from one member airline to another.  Currently, SkyTeam members offer 300,000+ weekly connections.

The third initiative, to improve the airport experience and achieve synergies, is SkyPort, increasing the number of shared locations worldwide.  Co-located facilities such as Heathrow T4, Tokyo Narita and Beijing enable customers to check-in at SkyTeam areas or self-service kiosks. www.skyteam.com
