Manston news

Currently up for sale by New Zealand owner Infratil, together with sister airport Prestwick, Manston Airport is in discussion with KLM/Air France to introduce a twice daily feeder service to and from Amsterdam.

The most easterly airport in the United Kingdom, and serving Kent and East Sussex, it has a long history of unsuccessful scheduled passenger services, the last by Flybe who dropped an Edinburgh operation in March of this year.  The airline also tried with Manchester.

However conditions may now be more helpful for an Amsterdam link with that airport's improved long haul services and the successful introduction of the high speed Javelin service via various Kent stations to and from London’s St Pancras from Ramsgate station, just three miles from the terminal.  Manston is 75 miles from central London, 13 miles from Canterbury and 20 miles from the port of Dover. www.manstonairport.com
