Paul Wait to GTMC

The popular Paul Wait, Virgin Atlantic’s GM UK, global and multinational sales, has been appointed Chief Executive of the GTMC, the UK’s leading professional industry body representing travel management companies, and will take up the role from 2 January 2013.

Mr Wait is the third senior Virgin executive to announce his departure in recent weeks, following in the footsteps of CEO Steve Ridgeway and PR Director Gregg Dawson.   

Paul is very well known in the business travel arena having spent the past 13 years with Virgin Atlantic.  He had previously built a 28-year career in the industry with American Express, rising to the position of VP sales.

Mr Wait said: “I am delighted and excited to have been given the opportunity to represent and lead the GTMC – an association renowned for its resilience, professionalism and ability to evolve in one of the most vibrant and dynamic industries, at a time when much change is on the horizon.  Paul paid tribute to his time at Virgin Atlantic: “Naturally I am sad to be leaving Virgin Atlantic – it’s a great company, I’ve learnt so much, had amazing colleagues and its been 13 action packed years”. www.gtmc.org
