Cathay’s new Recaro seats

Business Class passengers on Cathay Pacific regional flights might get lucky over the next few weeks as the airline begins to take delivery of its first new Recaro modular units. 

Developed exclusively for the Hong Kong-based airline the seats are a quantum leap from the previous units with the fixed layout allowing the back rest to be moved without disturbing the occupier behind.

Called the CL5510 the seat maximizes living space with a seat pitch of 45 up to 47 inches, and offers ergonomic cushions and extra-wide armrests.  The headrest features a 6-way adjustment for height and tilt along with folding side wings.  The generous legroom in the shell can be used as a storage spacious compartment. Space for magazines, notebooks, or books can be found in the literature pocket in the centre console.  A separate compartment in the shell is designed to store an iPod or iPhone, which can be connected to the adjacent multiport.  Coats and jackets can be hung on the coat hook on the aisle side of the seat. www.recaro.com www.cathaypacific.com
