787 for South America

The trickle of Boeing 787 deliveries is beginning to speed up with four Dreamliners handed over to airline customers in August, bringing up a grand total of 19.

LAN Chile, which now merged with TAM of Brazil, last week became the first South American carrier to receive the aircraft.  It has on order a total of 32.  The aircraft is configured with 30 2+2+2 fully flat seats in Premium Business and 217 3+3+3 in Economy with a 31” pitch.  The airline has an outstanding reputation for the quality of its service.

The new aircraft will be based in Santiago with Buenos Aires, Lima, Los Angeles, Madrid and Frankfurt likely to be amongst the first destinations when it comes ‘on-line’ in the next few months.  A oneworld member, it does not fly to London. www.lan.com
