From 11 September onwards Eurostar is introducing a quiet coach facility on-board all its trains for travel from September 2012.
Passengers booking Business and Standard Premier tickets can choose a seat at no extra cost in a dedicated quiet coach at the time of booking. This service is being introduced in direct response to customer requests for the option of a quieter environment in which to work or wind down during their journey.
Presently Eurostar operates three grades of service – Business Premier, Standard Premier and Standard. The big difference between the two upgraded services is that only Business Premier customers gain access to the Eurostar lounges at departing stations, and courtesy wi-fi (St Pancras is free wi-fi everywhere). They can also dine during the journey. Standard Premier passengers are offered a snack meal.
In 2010 Eurostar announced a £700m programme of investment in its fleet, including the complete overhaul and refurbishment of its existing trains and the purchase of 10 new trainsets. www.eurostar.com
