Quickly established in Muscat following the retirement of Peter Hill, new Australian Oman Air CEO, Wayne Pearce, has announced a daily service to the Iranian capital of Tehran from 1 September.
The new route will be operated using Embraer E-175 regional jets. The airline took delivery of two in 2011; two more will enter service later this year. The airline also holds an option on a further five aircraft.
The airline flies daily from Oman to Heathrow using a three-class Airbus A300 which offers wi-fi connectivity. From Oman to Bangkok it is a two-class service to the same very high standard. It currently code-shares with bmi. The airline has on order six Boeing 787s scheduled for delivery in 2015. For regional operations 15 Boeing 737-700s/800s and two ATR 42s are used. www.omanair.com
