von Essen, the executive aviation and hotel operator, has acquired Llangoed Hall Hotel in Powys (Wales), just north of the Brecon Beacons National Park. It brings the von Essen Hotels' private collection up to 31 properties.
Set in acres of beautiful landscaped gardens and dating back to 1632, Llangoed Hall Hotel is an impressive destination and joins the Michelin-starred Ynyshir Hall, on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park, as the Collection's second Welsh property.
Offering 23 rooms, the house showcases the style and fabrics of Laura Ashley, whose husband, Sir Bernard, created the hotel. Their unique personal touches make Llangoed truly special. The hotel is home to Ashley’s restaurant and the Whistler bar and is the ideal location for all manner of events, while its magnificent setting is a magnet for walkers, horse riding, fishing and mountain biking. Part of the acquisition is Sir Bernard’s private art collection, including the famous Whistler room, which houses over 20 of Whistlers original drawings. www.vonessenhotels.com
