For the record “The Queen’s Flight” will not have to be renamed “The King’s Flight”.
On 1 April 1995, The Queen's Flight was merged into No. 32 Squadron RAF to become No. 32 (The Royal) Squadron.
Stephen Timms, MP for East Ham (London City Airport), has recalled a meeting with the Queen when the question of noise from the airport was raised. Her Majesty made a quick response to the effect that she too was aware of the problem “Don’t forget I live on the Heathrow flightpath at Windsor Castle”.

As a Nation we all felt the loss. I rather liked the way it was treated by BTN. She clearly enjoyed her visits to London City Airport and the AND FINALLY comment kept the balance right and educated me for one with the Royal Squadron.

Well done whoever put this weekâs AND FINALLY together. The balance was just right

As a great admirer of the professionalism of the past Queens Flight it was disappointing to see chartered aircraft in use at Aberdeen recently .The neutral image is not as striking as the 32 squadron flight .I can only assume 32 was overwhelmed by the recent event ? A friend of mine was a 32 Captain on the DH 125s which provided along with the 146s and Andovers such a proud professional service and were a recognisable credit to the RAF and Britain in the public eye .In an earlier life I handled the Royal Andovers at Le Bourget and Nice (do not touch the shiny fuselage sonny)and the 146 with Diana and Charles at Nice . Proud days .
