More routes for Wizz Air

Low-cost airline Wizz Air is resuming flights from London’s Luton airport to Athens this autumn. The daily service will operate from 30 October.

Earlier this summer the carrier announced plans for nine new routes from Gatwick and Luton airports. These include launching year-round three-times-weekly flights from Luton to Tallinn, capital of Estonia, from 1 November and daily flights to Prague from 30 October.

Meanwhile the airline will launch a further five routes from its Gatwick base. From 30 October, it will launch four-times-weekly flights to Agadir (Morocco) and daily flights to Marrakesh. There will also be year-round three-times-weekly flights to Verona (Italy) from 13 December.

Seasonal routes from Gatwick will include twice-weekly flights to Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh from 1 November and a once-weekly flight to Grenoble from 17 December.

Marion Geoffroy, Managing Director, Wizz Air UK, said: “We are very excited to announce the addition of nine new routes from our bases at London Luton Airport and Gatwick Airport.

“Despite the challenges the UK aviation industry has faced this summer season, we remain committed to the market and are pleased to be able to offer passengers the chance to discover even more fascinating destinations such as Tallinn and Hurghada, and revisit holiday hotspots like Sharm El Sheikh. We look forward to welcoming passengers on board our young, efficient and sustainable aircraft”.

Wizz Air first launched flights to the UK in 2004 and opened its first base in 2017. It now operates over 60 routes from across the UK.
