Ritz-Carlton 'NoMad' Manhattan

Marriott International has opened its long-anticipated Ritz-Carlton New York, NoMad property in Manhattan.

The new-build hotel is located in a 50-storey property developed by New York-based Flag Luxury Group on Tin Pan Alley at Broadway and 28th Street in the NoMad area (North of Madison Square Park).

The 250 guestrooms include 19 suites and there are an additional 16 one- and two-bed penthouse residences, each of which features bespoke furnishings, a neutral colour palette and Diptyque bathroom amenities.

The hotel includes floral installations throughout as a nod to the Flower District, and an art collection curated by Culture Corps and founding partner Yvonne Force Villareal, featuring local artists such as Pat Steir, Ross Bleckner and Donald Baechler.

Dining venues have been created by Michelin-starred chef José Andrés, and include the ground-floor all-day Zaytina restaurant and rooftop bar Nubeluz. The former has been designed by the Rockwell Group and offers mezze and cocktails inspired by Turkish, Greek and Lebanese cuisine amid bronze metals, white oak wood and pops of blue.

The rooftop bar, meanwhile, has been designed by Martin Brudnizki to mirror New York’s glamorous past, featuring reflective surfaces and 270-degree views of Manhattan. The bar offers light bites, classic and signature cocktails and the opportunity to build-your-own boards of Spanish ham and cheese.

There is also a first-floor Lobby Lounge and Bar and later this year the hotel will see the arrival of The Bazaar by José Andrés, a high-end theatrical dining venue designed by Barcelona-based studio Lazaro Rosa-Viola.

Facilities include a Club Lounge for guests staying on the Club Level, a 632sq metre spa and fitness centre with eight treatment rooms, and 929sq metres of meeting space, including an outdoor terrace.

Donna McNamara, VP and global brand leader for The Ritz-Carlton, commented: “The Ritz-Carlton New York, NoMad represents a milestone moment in the evolution of The Ritz-Carlton brand.

“With an exquisite design that blends the best of the brand and the destination, combined with the finest amenities, culinary offerings, and highly personalised service, The Ritz-Carlton New York, NoMad delivers an experience tailored to today’s luxury guest.”
