Peter Bellew, the well-respected Chief Operations Officer of easyJet, has resigned with immediate effect. He joined the airline in 2019 from Ryanair where he held a similar position. At the time the Irish airline started court proceedings to stop the vastly experienced airline man from moving to a rival.
EasyJet boss Johan Lundgren, in charge since taking over from Carolyn McCall in December 2017, said the airline remains “absolutely focused on delivering a safe and reliable operation this summer”.
David Morgan, currently Director of Flight Operations, becomes Interim Chief Operations Officer.
EasyJet has been one of the worst hit airlines, cancelling thousands of flights, including dozens at the last minute on the day of departure. See also Bomb Hoax on easyJet in this week's BTN.
