Southend Jet Centre Open Day

The re-branded London Southend Jet Centre (LSJC) hosted its first Open Day to the aviation community on 16 June.

The event attracted over 50 brokers, airlines and tour operators enabling them to meet the Southend team and go airside, the ramp featuring a Vulcan Bomber, Douglas C47 and an electric Pipistrel.

Host for the day was Nigel Mayes, Business Development Director, who pointed out the merits of the airport which include a train station with regular services to London Liverpool Street (now on the Elizabeth Line), and also Stratford.  Canary Wharf only 36 miles away, an easy one-hour drive, and the airport also boasts a Hilton Hotel, its ‘1935’ top floor restaurant named after the opening date of the airport with unrivalled views of the airport and runway.  Southend Airport is open 24/7, with night slots available.
