What an advert for private jets!
Our regular contributor Alison Chambers was in Geneva last week for the European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (EBACE).
It all went horribly wrong on the way back when U2 (easyJet) cancelled the 19:10 flight to Gatwick with passengers about to board. “No crew”, said the local representative.
Stranded along with a few influential UK charter brokers she realised that some of the showcased business jets were departing the show the following morning.
No problem if you know who to ask. She just hitched a lift.
Thanks to an amazing response from Textron UK six of them, including Chambers, took off from Geneva’s private terminal (Signature Flight Support) direct to Farnborough on the newest Citation XLS – bypassing the busy terminal completely. The sleek jet landed 1.15hrs later at her local airport and an accompanying colleague made it back in time for the Grandson’s first birthday party too. Ali lives locally in Woking too. A surprised hubby got to the airport in time too.
Private jets are booming (50 counted at Luton last week). BTN wonders why!
