Whilst the long-awaited opening of the Elizabeth line is the current Transport for London (TfL) news event other important actions have been undertaken by the capital’s public service provider over the last week or so.
Weekend night services are now creeping back joining the Central and Victoria lines which resumed last November. The Jubilee line has followed and the Northern and Piccadilly night tube will return later this summer. Ridership on the Tube network has reached as high as 80% of pre-pandemic levels at weekends, while ridership on buses is regularly at 75%.
The Northern line, which was suspended through Bank station is now running normally from end to end and with it the connection to the DLR and services to ExCeL and London City Airport.
